Black Sheep Squadron aka "Baa Baa Black Sheep" - Captain Annie Shafter in "Love and War"
December 14, 1976. Episode # 1.13
The squadron is granted a few days of rest and relaxation at Espritos Marcos. There Jerry Bragg runs into Annie, an old acquaintance from his home town. She is a nurse that has just been stationed in the South Pacific. He introduces her to the rest of the guys and she seems to have the eye for Larry.

An air raid alarm goes of and while trying to find shelter, Jerry and Annie find themselves drenched by sprinklers. Annie takes Jerry back to her quarters so that they can get dried off. They kiss and Jerry asks to see her again the next night. Annie only agrees to the date if he can find a date for her friend and she suggests Larry. Bragg reluctantly agrees and manages to convince Larry to join him in this double date even though Larry is supposed to return a jeep to the motorpool that was signed out by TJ.

The two couples go to the beach the next evening and have a picnic. Jerry and Annie take a little walk. Annie asks Jerry if he would do her a favor and spend some time with her friend. She leads him to believe that her friend is interested in him. At that point Jerry tells Annie that he likes her and since it is his last night on Espritos, he'd rather spend it with her. But he reluctantly agrees.

Later the foursome goes to the officer's club for drinks and dancing. While Jerry is dancing with Annie's friend, Annie and Larry sit together at a table. Annie notices that her watch is missing and asks Larry to go with her to the beach to look for it. Larry wants to tell Jerry before they go, but she insists they will be right back and won't be missed. After they have gone, Greg and Jim enter the club and ask Jerry where Casey has gone. It seems the jeep he was supposed to return was reported missing and it needs to be returned. At that point, Jerry realizes that Casey has left with Annie.

At the beach there is no sign of the watch. Annie says there is only one more place that it could be and would Larry mind if she checked. She takes him to her quarters where she finds her watch on the bureau. Annie then tells Larry that she is forgetful but also sneaky. She admits that she set the whole date up just to be with Larry. They kiss. Larry asks her about Jerry. She just says that with the war so close, she pursues what she wants. She tells Casey that Jerry will understand. They kiss again.

The next day the squadron prepared to return to Vella La Cava. The MPs are looking for TJ because of the jeep. As they wait to board the transport Larry tries to talk to Jerry, but Jerry cuts to the front of the line to avoid the conversation. A jeep arrives with a patient with a heavily bandaged face. A nurse helps the patient board the plane and Greg thanks her for her help. After the transport takes off, the bandages are removed to reveal TJ. The squadron laughs at the ploy to get TJ off of Espritos undetected. Greg notices the tension between Casey and Bragg.

Back at Vella La Cava the squadron returns to their daily missions. During a dogfight Bragg is working to flame an enemy plane. Casey comes in and makes the kill. Bragg is furious and accuses him of stealing his kill. Greg reprimands Jerry and tells the squadron he does not want them to fight over kills. Once on the ground he tells Casey that he and Bragg had better keep their problems on the ground. Casey tells Greg that he doesn't have to tell him that.

In his tent Larry confronts Jerry about what is happening. Bragg tells Larry that he is tired of his superior attitude and that he not only stole his kill, but he also stole his girl. Larry insists that it was Annie's idea to get together and that she had told him that she would have a talk with Jerry about it. Larry wants to settle the argument somehow and Jerry calls him out for a fight. The two come to blows and end up outside their tent. The other members of the squadron gather around and even make bets on the outcome. When they realize that the fight is more than just blowing off steam they move in to stop it.

After the fight Larry tells Greg that he wants a transfer out of the unit. Greg tries to talk him out of it, but Larry's mind is made up. He says that not only is he the victim of numerous jokes, he doesn't agree with how things get done and he is always put upon to take care of things.

When the other's find out about the turn of events they are dismayed. They realize how much Casey does for the unit. Bragg claims that he can take over whatever Casey was doing. Larry comes into the Sheep Pen to say goodbye. He mentions all the practical jokes that he has been a victim of, but claims that he loved the outfit and will miss it. After he leaves, Jim Gutterman is incredulous at what Larry has gone through.

Larry is given orders to work on Col. Lard's staff. At one point he enters the officers club on Espritos and finds Annie flirting wiht another man. He leaves the club immediately. On Vella La Cava, things don't run so smoothly after his departure. The squadron makes it clear to Bragg that he has made a mistake and it needs to be remedied. He comes up with a plan. One night as Larry sleeps, the sheep come and kidnap him to take him back to La Cava. He doesn't seem to keen on the idea until he finds out that it was Jerry's idea to bring him back.

To the relief of the squadron he decides to stay on with the 214th with the agreement that there will be no more "Casey do this and Casey do that". They want to offer up a toast but the latest delivery of alcohol needs to be brought in. Jim Gutterman then good naturedly goads Larry by saying "Casey, go get it." The other sheep hold Casey back from rushing Jim. They freeze frame...the end.

The other actors, luminaries such as Sarah Siddons, Dame Ellen Terry and Henry Irving, do their best to help George through plays that might be PRIVATE LIVES, HAMLET or Samuel Beckett's CHECKMATE. After fumbling through missed cues and disconcerting play shifts, George rises to the occasion in the climactic scene from A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS, finally giving the right line. But dream suddenly gives way to reality as the executioner's axe (meant for Sir Thomas Moore) instead sends poor George to oblivion. THE ACTOR'S NIGHTMARE will be presented at the Grand Opening of the Theater On High Street, Ventura County's newest (and oldest) stage.
